Matthew Luke Nathaniel Webbe (May 25, 1971 – ) , is a Canadian teacher from Toronto, Canada . He was born in Toronto, Canada , and received his bachelor's degree in education from York University in 2005, and a Bachelor's of Social Work (Honours) from York University, Atkinson Faculty of Liberal & Professional Studies (AK) in 2004. He took a teaching post as a special education teacher at The Waterfront School in Toronto, Canada in 2004. He is currently a teacher at Avondale Alternative Elementary Public School; teaching the grade 6, 7 & 8 class filled with a variety of dynamic and interesting students. The students in my class inspire him to become a better teacher. Matthew is know for incorporating Media Arts (aka media literacy),History, Geography, Urban Planning and current events into his curriculum. He likes to infuse these subject areas with my own experiences and real-world examples.


Early life Edit

Webbe attended Bayview Glen in his hometown, during his primray and junior education, eventually graduating in 1980. Bayview Glen is a private school in Toronto, Canada established in 1962. Bayview Glen describes itself as "a co-educational, multicultural, non-denominational, university preparatory day school."

The school is located in North York on Duncan Mill Road near the intersection of Don Mills Road and York Mills Road. Bayview Glen is also close to Leslie Street and North York General Hospital.

Bayview Glen accepts students from the age of 2 to Grade 12. The lower school, a three story complex, is for students from Senior Kindergarten to Grade 5. The Prep School, for Grades 6, 7 and 8, is located on the third floor in the lower school building. There is a preschool campus for students between the ages of 2 and Junior Kindergarten. The Upper School is for students in Grades 9 to 12. It is located in a separate campus on Moatfield Drive across the street from the lower school and beside a Kraft Canada Division building. Bayview Glen is also a member of Round Square and CISAA.

Bayview Glen sports two equipped gymnasiums, science labs, two libraries complemented with computer and encyclopedia resources, four computer labs, and two fully staffed cafeterias. Bayview Glen's upper school houses a fully functional theater designed to host events ranging from music festivals to plays. Two accessible fields allow Bayview Glen to host outdoor activities and sports matches. The three campuses are surrounded by 40 acres of conservation land.


The goal of education is to assist students to reach unattainable goals through curriculum, insnpiration, creativity and instilling a sense of purpose. The miracle is that through this foundation, students are equip to accomplish this impossible task.—Matthew Webbe, 2009
